Negotiations On The Next Round of Coronavirus Stimulus Legislation

Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) briefed reporters about negotiations on the next round of coronavirus stimulus legislation.

Rep. Jeffries called the Republican’s proposed HEALS Act “totally irrelevant” and said it was “dead on arrival.”

Rep. Jeffries said Democrats want to extend unemployment benefits, provide another round of stimulus payments, and provide additional funding for state and local governments, which he called a “line in the sand.”

Senator Murray Pushes to Ensure Stimulus Payments Reach People Experiencing Homelessness

U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) joined Senator Tina Smith (D-MN) and 28 of her Senate Democratic colleagues in calling on the Department of the Treasury to ensure eligible recipients, including those who are experiencing homelessness, receive the direct relief they are entitled to.

From the start of the coronavirus crisis, Senator Murray has fought for resources and aid for Washingtonians and people across the country experiencing homelessness.

The revenue service of the United States federal government. A bureau of the Department of the Treasury, headed by the Commissioner of Internal Revenue.
